Obama’s Evolving China Stance

With the US elections nearing, it is interesting to consider the approach that a second Obama administration would take towards China. This New York Times report by Mark Landler, once the newspaper’s bureau chief in Hong Kong, chronicles how Obama’s China policy has evolved in response to China’s own foreign policy positions in the last two years.

For anybody interested in US-China relations, I strongly recommend that you attend the lecture by Professor Wang Jisi, Dean of the School of International Studies at Peking University, on Tuesday, 25 September, at 6.30 pm in the Rayson Huang Theatre of HKU. Professor Wang is also a key foreign policy advisor to the Chinese government.
